This unsupervised machine learning algorithm offers a robust alternative to k-means clustering. The center of each cluster is represented by one of the objects in the cluster, called medoid (pam function of the cluster library).

Dissimilarity matrix for mixed data

Computes dissimilarities between objects described by both quantitative and qualitative variables using the Gower coefficient (daisyfunction of the cluster library).

GARCH modeling

Commonly used in financial forecasting, this model is adapted to time series with volatility clustering properties (garch function of thetseries library).

Kriging

A geostatistical approach for spatio-temporal interpolation used in a variety of disciplines such geology and meteorology (gstat function of the gstat library).
